Porter Airlines CSR Members: Bargaining Update for September 2nd, 2022
September 2, 2022 at 10:15 AM
The Bargaining Committee met with the Company on August 23 and 24, in Toronto, to continue negotiations towards a new collective agreement. The Committee believes the discussions have been productive and common ground has been found with the Company on the non-monetary proposals.
We plan to meet with the Company on September 22nd, 2022 to begin talks on the monetary items and to continue negotiations. It is important to note, that to protect the integrity of the negotiations process, the Committee cannot discuss specific details with the membership while in talks with the Company.

Important Information for Porter Airline CSR Members – District 362
July 12, 2022 at 3:48 PM
Porter Airlines recently approached Unifor seeking an agreement on increasing the minimum wage for members that have 1 to 4 years on the wage scale to $17.00/HR for CSRS and $19.50 for CSRS LEADS.
Although we are currently in contract negotiations and have secured dates to meet with the company on August 23-24, 2022, this agreement was achieved outside of the context of collective bargaining.
Enclosed is the signed Memorandum of Agreement & Wage Scale Revised that includes provisions to ensure that all of Unifor’s rights will be maintained and that this agreement is non-prejudicial in nature. The Union maintains full rights to negotiate wage increases for all employees during the current round of negotiations.
Since returning from the COVID shutdown, Porter Airlines, like many employers across Canada have experienced challenges both in the recruiting and retaining of employees, specifically in this case, in the CSR work group at Billy Bishop Airport. These challenges need to be addressed urgently to support our membership and the work they do every day. Local 2002 is hopeful that this agreement will assist Porter Airlines in its staffing efforts, which in turn will result in better support for our hard-working members.
In addition to the increase in the minimum wage, an additional memorandum of agreement has been signed off from July 11th, 2022 to September 5th, 2022 to compensate for overtime at double time. Please click here for details
Make no mistake, your bargaining committee will continue to push for further wage increases and improvements for ALL members of this important group. While only some members will see an immediate increase in their base wages, it is important to remember that negotiations continue and we have an opportunity to continue to negotiate for even better improvements and gains for the entirety of this bargaining unit.
You will see in the documents provided that an agreement has already been reached that any further increases in wages achieved through the bargaining process, and once ratified, will be applied retroactively back to April 27, 2022.

Your Porter Airlines CSR Bargaining Committee

Porter Airlines CSR Members: Bargaining Update for February 1st, 2022
On Monday, January 31st, 2022 your elected bargaining committee met with the membership virtually via zoom in attendance was also the Local 2002 leadership and National representative Pearl Almeida.
The purpose of these meetings was to engage with the membership, provide details of the bargaining survey results and allow the membership to provide us with their feedback and input on what they would like to see negotiated into their next collective agreement. Thank you to the number of members that attended and participated in these important meetings. Membership solidarity will be the key to our bargaining success.
The bargaining committee will be meeting in person later this week to develop proposals and make final preparations as we head into the collective bargaining process. We will ensure to provide further communications once we have the confirmed dates with the company to officially open bargaining.
If you have not already done so, it is imperative during negotiations for Local 2002 to have a personal email address (Company email addresses not accepted) to communicate updates and provide confidential and time-sensitive information. Please provide your bargaining committee with your personal email address as soon as possible.
Bargaining updates will also be provided throughout negotiations and will be on the Unifor 2002 website. In addition, please ensure that you have subscribed at unifor2002.org.
